A business like acting is 90% luck. You can be a star one minute and out of work the next.
A lot of people think I'm cynical when I talk about acting. The truth of the matter is, I just don't want someone to get some lame advice that will send them in the wrong direction.
My advice is to make acting your second career choice.
So from an actor's perspective, you really have no idea how you're acting.
I mean one of the basic rules when you're acting is that you mustn't stand in judgement on a character, you mustn't say Hitler was a bad man because you can't act in that way.
There's lots of interesting jobs in the profession besides acting, and I like to try and keep an eye on and understand other people's jobs, rather than just my own.
I did a play called Throne of Straw when I was 11, at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles. It became really clear to me at that point that I enjoyed acting more than any other experience I was having.
The most significant piece of advice my father gave me early on about acting was, don't get caught acting. Really believe in what you're doing and then commit to it. Even if it feels uncomfortable, even if you feel that you're gonna look like an ass. It's all acting, but find the truth in a moment as opposed to just pretending you have and rather than trying to act your way out of it.
But no, I love acting, it's a wonderful job.
I don't think I have one iota of cynicism about acting.
Acting is glamour but writing is hard work, so I'm going to be an actress.

I think it's definitely beneficial for these characters to have good acting voices behind them and it affects the characters in a way that people can feel like they're part of the game and that they know these characters.
In general, I find that for videos the acting is more realistic.
